Why homes settle here
Much of Sonoma County sits on expansive clay and alluvial soil. Seasonal wet and dry cycles move that soil, and homes built before modern foundation codes often rest on short piers or unreinforced concrete. Add seismic movement and decades of downspout runoff, and one corner of a house slowly drops.
How we lift a home
We survey floor elevations across the whole structure, then set cribbing and hydraulic jacks at load points under the framing. The house comes up slowly — usually over several days — so plaster, tile and drywall have time to move with it. Once the structure is true, we set permanent supports and re-shim to final elevation.
Engineering and permits
Larger lifts and structural repairs are done to engineered drawings and permitted through the county or city. We coordinate the engineer, the permit and the inspections so you don't have to chase them.
